Keep Going

The fair is over! I tried to blog last night but my internet was down....Sorry for the missed days. I still have a goal to blog Mon. - Thurs. Diane is in MO and we are having a dinner tonight for the RVers. Many of them will be gone by Sunday. It is amazing to see how much they have accomplished. We keep thanking God for their ministry. I'm wore out again. Sleeping in a RV at the fair is not relaxing.=) I hope to get back going full strength in a couple days. In the mean time I just KEEP GOING!

The Fair

Wow what a day!!!! I started out by going to the airport to pick up 3 guys from MO to work on the building and one guy to work on show steers. I got them all here and started working ....then ran around a little taking care of stuff...came back to the steer pens only to watch one of the calves tear down the grooming chute and run around with it still around his neck......Thankfully we got him out without the steer getting hurt to bad. We hope he can get up and move around tomorrow. I'm glad my friend Mike was able to get out of the way before he got ran over. He still got a pretty good scrape on his side. Of course it is the best calf we own.=) While the steer was running around  still hooked to the chute I ran over and moved my van out of the way. Yeah you guessed it the steer came right  back where the van was parked and rammed my old horse trailer instead. Thank you Lord. Finally we left for the carcass show in Tucson. Steers are much easier to handle when they are dead.=) My oldest son Logan won Grand Champion...Landan took 3rd and Morgan took 7th. We are praying for a safe fair season for us and all the other exhibitors. I hope to get atleast 1 more blog in this week.

Church Planting

I was in meetings for most of the day today. I learned something that I hope you find interesting. In the Assemblies of God nationwide we grew by 1.5% last year.  That means a church that had 67 people last year had 68 this year. Not to impressive....until you realize that is the largest growth of any of the evangelically denominations. Wow....the numbers also show that if you take out the church plants that we are in a drastic decline. The same holds true for new believers. So during the meeting we were told that the vision from our national leader was to plant more churches....that is also the vision of our district supertindent has. Basically the idea is that if we don't start new churches were going to die. Very interesting.....now the question is how do you do that? So far in 2009 the Assemblies have started 26 new churches.....pretty good huh.....bad news is they have closed 47. Makes you wonder if the U.S. is headed towards God or away from God. Get ready Jesus is coming soon!

The Heater Is On

Well if you live in AZ it is getting hot. The Rvers are thinking about leaving and I don't blame them. Our steers are losing their hair. We won;t have much grooming to do next week at the fair.  I'm digging out my shorts and filling the pool.  And we are still in March!  If you our noy from AZ enjoy the cool spring weather.

Morgan Wiese

My daughter is an incredible person. I'm her dad so I'm suppose to say things like that...right? Let me tell you a little about her and see what you think. Also I hope to get a few pictures of her up today.  She is totally beautiful.....takes after her Mom......15 yrs old....teaches school at Freedom Christian School....back up singer for youth band......in May will have 29 college credits and will graduate from High School.....enrolled in Civil Air Patrol a program affiliated with the Air Force.....owns 2 4-h steers....has her own bank account.....has a driving permit......can clean house....do laundry....and cook a full meal for 8-10 people including dessert......big sister to 4 boys and a newborn baby girl.....she is not a drama queen....and is looking for Mr. Right not just any good looking guy that smiles at her. I'm sure I missed something but that's her in a nutshell. What do you think?

 

The Steers

We got up early today to take the carcass steers to UofA. They will be killed and judged this week. Next Monday we will go back to see if we win anything. Landan wants a belt buckle bad. Only first and second get one. I told him not to get his hopes to high. Some people show their whole life and never win one. Morgan and Logan both have been blessed to win one....Morgan has won two. I'm just glad we don't have to feed them anymore. Next week we will be headed to the fairgrounds with are show steers. The cool part about doing 4-h animals are the lessons the kids learn. Plus it means I spend time with my kids everyday. It's great to start a project and see it to completion......with the carcass calves we even get to eat them. I gotta go I'm making myself hungry....can you say T-Bone?!

The Building

Well we just keep on going forward. It's hard to believe how much work the RVers have done. They have done a great job. Most of them are starting to think about heading home. We still have electrical, hvac and plumbing for them to do. I will have to make some big decisions pretty soon. We either have to wait or pay. I don't like either one of those options. Again lots of prayer.....we want to do what God would have us do. The most incredible thing is that we are as far as we are. A year ago I was still wondering if we would ever get a permit. Now I can drive by and look at the shell and dream about having the building done! No matter what God has done a great miracle in AZ City!!!!!!!! Hope to have some new pictures up today.

   

Lake Wiese

Lake is 15 months old now. I think he is one of the cutest babies ever. Even so much that I told Diane that he could be a model. He is always in a good mood always laughing and smiling and doing funny things. I can't believe how much children bring joy to my life. God has blessed me with 6 so far. They are all different.....all unique. I love being a husband and father. Please enjoy the pictures of my handsome little man. You might even see God!

That's what I love about Sundays

Make sure you listen to the last part of the last verse.  Yes, church should be a place you enjoy going.  Sundays are the best day of the week.  Good times and smiles!  See you this Sunday!
