Back to the Basics

Once again I am reminded that being a christian is not about how much greek you know...or how well read you are...it is just knowing the basics. I talked to someone recently that was really confused by the Bible....he was trying to read to much into it. The Bible shares basic truths of how to live life. We understand there truths by living them out. By being doeres of the word not just hearers. So I try to bring this to the pulpit. Way back in eighth grade when I was at a basketball camp...they taught something called the KISS method....keep it simple stupid....haha  For most of us that is the way we need to read scripture.....keep it simple and do what it says!!!!!

JOY

I was recently asked why I thought Freedom was having so much success....the short answer....JOY! It should be a joy to come to church....right? It should be a joy to serve Christ....it should be a joy to give money to the church....it should be a joy to listen to worship music....a joy to praise God with other belivers...JOY can become contagious...so if Joy is in the house the house is packed...It is a lot better to have people coming to church because they want to not because they have to. As pastor I must speak about sin and the need for the Savior Christ....and I also must encourage....It sure helps if I smile, and the worship team smiles when they sing, and the greeters smile, and the guy driving the cart to pick people up, and the coffeee ladies, and the person you are setting by, and the kids director is smiling, and the teachers....so start a JOY revelotion at your church....go there and smile a lot and act like you love being there!!!!

Mother in Law II

Ann is doing great! She even called me this morning and said thanks for the prayers. Yeah! The maases they removed were not cancareous and the surgery went faster than they thought. She is in very little pain and is hoping to get off pain meds today. At least the heavy stuff.  So glad Diane got to be with her yesterday and going to be there with her today. It really is comforting to have someone around that wil ask questions and get answers when you are not quite up to par. Thanks to everyone who prayed!

Mother in Law

My mother in law is having major surgery today. She is such a great person. I'm so sad for her that she worked all of her life and now that she has retired she has major surgery. She is a big help with my kids! Plus her and my father in law were planning to start traveling some and take an extended vacation to MO. So...now we are praying that the surgery goes good...and the healing is even faster than the Drs. expect. My wife Diane is with her dad waiting for her to get out of surgery....which sometimes can be very hard...just waiting so pray for them to please!

 

Facebook

We have found a great way to reach more people for Christ....yes it's facebook. We are now expolring new options to expand our influence even wider. The big idea is to get as many people introduced to Christ as possible!!! Tony has helped me a greatly. One of the hard things about AZ City is advertising.....how do people even know we are here. So this is a way to do it at almost no cost. I'm excited about the possibilities. Also we now have a web page....freedomfamilychurch.com
