Freedom Assembly

10 Years!

We are having a big celebration this weekend. It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we started Freedom. Diane and I have truly been blessed. God has done so many miracles! As I look back the biggest thing I see is people. There has been financial blessings, building miracles, healings, and on and on...but the thing that gets a hold of your heart is people. People who come to your broken....the world has kick them around and they have let it happen. For a lot of people they chase the American Dream....problem is the American Dream gets you no where. What we all have is the need of the Savior....we need Christ to rule our lives. We need someone and something to obey...to lead us. When I see people come broken and leave just a littlehealed it brings me a lot of joy. Then some people you see a total change in them....they use to be like this...now they're like Christ. It still drives me 10 years later. I think it's because Christ saved me at 34 and I had been chasing the American Dream without Jesus. My world was falling a part and I didn't know how to stop it. So finally I just didn't really care anymore. We went  to church a few times and then Diane and I got saved back to back weeks. We still have are ups and downs but with God we just keep on keeping on. My love for Christ has heightened my love for her. It has made me care. I want people to experience the life changing POWER of CHRIST!!!! 

Paperwork

I hate it....I hate everything about doing all the tiious little things that I do sometimes. So thank ful it's not all day every day. How do people do it? I plan to get out oftheis office and enjoy some of this great weather. We have a huge weekend coming up. Work work work and no paper work. I'll save it for next
onday. Well I still have more paper work to do today so I better go tackle it!!!!

Economics

I'm not that smart but I do know you need enough money to pay the bills.  HaHa....Our church as many others have struggled financially over the last 4 years. We have been able to keep things going and build a building during this time. God has done many miracles to bring it to pass. Right now for the year 2011 we find our self in the red again. Our finances don't look that great. We have cut evry thing we can from our spending. That is why I'm so excited! You might say what? It just sets us up for more miracles from God! This week was one of the best giving days Freedom has had in awhile. Thank you Lord. My belief is that it will just keep on getting better. I also believe by the end of the year our books will be balanced!!!!

 

Great People

I love being around great people. I need them in my life and so do you. This world we  live in is a very very negative place. It will bring you down. When you deal with negative people it will bring you down. As a pastor I hear the good(sometimes) the bad and the ugly. It can even bring on bouts of depression at times. So I need to spend time with great people who have vision....encouragement and that can do spirit. I love my Dad because he was one of those guys. He still says ....you can do it first...then asks the hard questions. And you may even get a little criticsm. I take it as a challenge. I love the fact that so many people said our church plant would never work. I love the fact that we had a few jump on board and say we could do it. All I needed was a few to get me started.  And here we are 10 years later still going. I love those great people in my life!!!!

Thinking Out Loud

Today has been a great day. I was just sitting in Tony's office thinking out loud. The cool thing is there was another guy with us. We werre talking about videos and some tech stuff. The other guy as he is listening to us dream and figure some things out is on his phone finding some videos and songs that we might like. So during this 15 minute session we get some scheduling done, ideas on paper, and atleast one video ready for Sunday morning....how cool is that!!!! Thanks Matt for being with us this morning!!!! One person can make a difference...never forget that!!!
