Attention Mosaic!

Well if you were at the Mosaic tonight then you heard the big news.

The God we serve is very adventurous and this journey we are on can be very unpredictable at times. This is the case with what God has been doing in mine and Jena's life. We have recently felt God calling us to step down as the pastors at the Mosaic and to take a step of faith.

This has honestly been one of the toughest decisions I have ever had to make in my life. I have tried to change God's mind, debate, argue and do whatever I can so that I can stay. But God continued to show me that if I stayed it would be selfish and not what God is wanting me to do. It would hold the Mosaic back from God's best and hold me back from everything God has for my own life.

Again I want all of you to understand a few things...

1. We absolutely LOVE all of you amazing teens. (Don't forget it!)
2. The Mosaic is NOT ending. Nope, it is just beginning
3. God has HUGE things for you that will blow your mind.

The thought of leaving has been such a killer for us emotionally. We have so many memories with all of you that will never leave us. You have made a mark on our lives and their are no words that can describe how much you all mean to Jena and I. I am so proud to say I was your youth pastor. It has been an amazing journey!

But I'm not saying goodbye yet. We still have a couple weeks and we are going to enjoy every second of it. You all are incredible. We love you all so much!

Goodbye Trisha!

Tonight we had to say goodbye to Trisha Elliott. It is so sad to see her go but we are so excited for what God has in store for her. We put together this video for her and many of you enjoyed it so I thought I'd put it online and you can enjoy it everyday! Enjoy!

Charlotte Update!!!

Well I have finally been able to get on some WI-FI so I can post an update about everything going on here in Charlotte and National Fine Arts/Convention.

We had 4 Mosaic students participate in this years National Fine Arts competition and they all represented AZ City, the Mosaic and Jesus to the fullest! Tori Gil and JD Mercado both submitted their poems and received really good feed back. Tasha Thorton sang her lungs out and made Jena cry (in a good way) and did an amazing job. And finally Tony Martinez did his 5 minute sermon and blew us away with his message!

I am so proud of each student who was a part of Fine Arts this year. I did Fine Arts when I was a student and it is not easy to stand in front of judges and perform. But each student pushed through the nerves and fear and showed off the talents that God has given them.

We are going to be doing a FINE ARTS SERVICE on Wednesday the 13th at the Mosaic so we can all see what each student did for this years Fine Arts. So BE THERE because and support our family at the Mosaic, you won't want to miss it!

I will post some other stuff that has been happening this week at Charlotte so stay posted! I'm outtie like a belly button, peace!

Another great night!!!

This is me in my hotel in Alabama. And I am sad because you all had another AMAZING night at the Mosaic and I wish I could have been there to experience it with you all!

But I was so excited to receive so many text messages from all of you proclaiming that "I AM THE CHURCH". I am so proud of all of you who made that decision tonight to no longer just go to church but to be the church!

Here's some questions to chew on from tonight...

- Are you following "Churchianity"? Does your relationship with God last as long as the church service?

- God has created each and every one of you to be a part and play a role in the church. What do you think God has created you to do and what are you going to do about it?

You all are amazing and I was missing all of you tonight like crazy! Don't forget we don't have service next week so tell your friends and everyone you know at school that the Mosaic is BACK on August 13th!!!

Don't Be A Christian

Wait. What?

Don't be a Christian? Isn't that like the exact opposite kind of message you are supposed to hear in church? Jesus wants us all to be Christians right?

Or does He?

Starting next week, the Mosaic will be looking at what Jesus' thoughts might be towards Christianity today and the movement that Jesus is calling all of us to join.

What if Jesus were to say "Don't be a Christian"? What if He is saying that to everyone who claims that title? Come and explore this question next week only at the Mosaic!

The Mosaic is BACK!!!

Last night was INCREDIBLE! It had been 7 weeks since our last service but it felt like 7 years since we have seen all of you. It was so amazing getting  a chance to hang out and catch up with you last night. I am so pumped about what God is going to do in our new home and in our lives, it's going to rock, so hold on tight!
